Origianally this domain was going to be used to host an updated version of my www.the-port.co.uk website that depicted the lives of myself and my friends in Newport south Wales, and our trips and tours around the world, but since starting to buy and sell on eBay i realised the potential that this domain would bring.

Most importantly the site can be used to host my Frequently Asked Questions and Policies pages, which describe the methods by which my eBay activities are carried out, and offer an insight for buyers as to the service they will receive.

Secondly the site is used to host all of the images that my eBay listings depend on, this both saves money as images are no longer included in the listing fees, and also allows my listings to contain as many images that are required to descibe the item to the buyer, A Picture is Worth a thousand Words.

In order to ensure that my listings are unique and instantly recognisable, i designed my own HTML listing page that is in a similar format to this website, it also carries the Portside logo. There a many benefits to this approach:

• Firstly - If you sell lots of similar items then you can re-use the HTML and change only a few sections, like the image name, and description, i keep every listing that i create as an HTML file and then copy and paste into the eBay listing as required.
• Secondly - All of my HTML listings contain links back to www.PortsideTWD.com, for buyers to access important information, like FAQ's and my policies.
• Thirdly - I have joined the eBay affiliate program and added some banners to my site that advertise ebay listings, i have filtered these for things that i am most interested in: - Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, Games and mobile phones.
